Hello, I'm Kevin Harding, a CEDR Accredited Mediator helping people resolve their business disputes. I've been involved in commercial dispute resolution, as a forensic accountant and expert witness, for 30 years and during this time, I've seen the popularity and success of mediation grow. I'm a great believer that mediation can unlock difficult disputes and maintain business relationships. It is also a more flexible and cheaper alternative to litigation or arbitration. WHAT IS MEDIATION?
Mediation is a confidential process where a neutral third party, the mediator, helps individuals or businesses resolve disputes. The mediator takes an active role in assisting the parties to work towards a negotiated settlement but the parties retain control of the ultimate decision to settle and on what terms. It is a flexible, cost effective and efficient alternative to litigation or arbitration, which allows the interests of the parties and their future working relationship to be taken into account.
